CCE-CEE will create an online marketplace for carbon credits in Eastern Europe

CCE-CEE will create an online marketplace for carbon credits to quickly match up buyers and sellers, the chief business development of LAMAR Company reported.

Various frameworks exist in Europe for trading carbon credits, but with no common open marketplace, buyers and sellers often have difficulties finding each other and getting a handle on market prices, causing the market to stagnate.

LAMAR Company which operates the CCE-CEE website, will set up a joint venture with a major carbon credit broker in Romania and the firm will start operating a carbon trading site in December 2010, the director said.

CCE-CEE will charge a percentage of transaction prices as commissions and trading.

Demand for carbon credit trading is expected to increase.
